Home About us

Countryside Matters began in 1998 as the website of the church Rural Officer for an area of Wiltshire. The archive and contents list still retain the old articles, although some links, especially to external sites, may now not function. For internal documents the 'Freefind' search box on the contents page will give the article sought.
Further church based articles were later posted to Rural Matters (see various links on this website). We are not adding new pages to either site at present but are concentrating on Bible studies which are posted weekly on the Christ the Redeemer website, initially called a 'Doorstep Church'. (See below)

During the time of Covid lockdowns in 2020 we were able to encourage people to stand on their own doorsteps to celebrate Easter, Pentecost and then Remembrance Sunday and Christmas. As restrictions eased in mid-2020 and again in 2021 we invited a very limited number to join us for Bible study, and also occasionally for Worship. This led to giving ourselves, initially, the name 'Doorstep Church'. The final easing of restrictions enabled us to return indoors but the concept remains as we take the Gospel to other peoples' doorsteps and homes if they wish.

The cell group is part of the Free Church of England with the name 'Christ the Redeemer Mission' and webpages from mid 2021 show this name.

Current and previous on-line Bible studies can be found via the home page at Christ the Redeemer Mission .
